About CoolWalking
CoolWalking is a one-person project. It started with a simple confusion: why had I gone through so many pairs of "walking shoes" and never found one that actually suited the five kilometers I walk every day?
What This Site Is
I read review sites. I saw the same thing over and over: spec-sheet summaries and brand recommendations. Nobody told me what a shoe felt like after 500 kilometers. Nobody told me whether a wide-footed walker would find the toe box tight. Nobody told me whether a 55-year-old with mild knee discomfort should pick the softer model or the firmer one.
So I decided to walk it myself.
Who I Am
I'm not an athlete. I'm not a podiatrist. I'm not an expert in anything. I'm a person who walks about five kilometers a day. Every pair of shoes I review, I walk in and record the mileage. I'll tell you what it feels like at 100km, whether it hardens at 300km, and how much sole is left at 500km.
This is the only thing I can do and the only thing I can promise: the miles I walk are real.
How CoolWalking Is Different
- Mileage, not impressions. Every review covers 500+ kilometers. No "first week" reviews. No "initial thoughts."
- No sponsored samples. Every pair of shoes is bought at retail price. This is why reviews are slow.
- Buffers and declines. I log how a shoe's cushioning degrades over time. That's the data that matters for daily walkers.
- Real numbers, not parameter lists. I don't care what the midsole foam is called. I care what my feet feel at kilometer 300.

Editor-in-Chief Note
I've worked at Google and Amazon for twenty years. I've seen far too many content sites recommend products based on spec sheets alone. CoolWalking doesn't do that. It replaces parameter-stacking with real mileage records. Every shoe here has been walked in for 500+ kilometers. I believe real beats conversion, every time.
